First post of many

I've created this log to track my walk with Christ. In time, I hope to develop as a man founded in His word. By reporting my daily devotion here, I hope to better commit to memory His teachings and recall it if need be.
I don't imagine I'll develop much of an audience but, anyone blessed by my ongoing testimony would be a plus.

In any case, today's daily bread covered Acts 11:19-29. The scripture covered Barnabus' visit to Antioch and how the Christian name came about. The daily bread devotion called us to live as a Christian. I think of this as impression management. A name and title must be maintained and worn with pride. To call myself a Christian, I need to truly strive to live a life for Him. To Live Is Christ.

Another (maybe more important part) of my daily devotion is my concurrent readings with my brothers Dennis, Andy, Adrian, and Mike. We're all reading the gospels. I'm going through Matthew and tonight I read chapter 7.

v. 1-18 was a lesson on deeds, prayer and fasting. Our actions need to be to glorify the Lord and not ourselves. Jesus explains this by explaining how people pray do good deeds for others to see. Those that do that loss any rewards they would have gotten in Heaven. True service is selfless.

v. 19-24 wraps up real nice with God's Love. Why is there any need to worry? All that stress won't add another hour to our life. Look at the birds; the Lord has set up a system in creation where they are fed and taken care off. Certainly, He has made provisions for us if He did the same for His lesser creations. "So do not worry about tomorrow: for tomorrow will care for itself"

This concludes my devotion this evening. I am so thankful that I even have the liberty, freedom, and time to do this. There is so much to be thankful for and my life here could be filled with so much more hardship. I love the Lord; His mercy truly is unbounded.
